It's in the Central Business District (CBD), which is essentially across the street from the freewheeling French Quarter. Many corporations, foreign consulates and the city’s convention center are located here, as is the Superdome. The hotel was really nice, super close to Bourbon street but not too loud. Hotel is not too big which is what we preferred. If we'd ever come back to New orleans I would stay in this place again and would not search for any other and I rarely say this. In 1943, businessman Archie Jewell renovated it to become “The International House,” the world’s first World Trade Center.
Minimalist decor with plush fabrics make the rooms feel luxe, though they aren't that big.
From October 2005 to December 2007 and to repair damage wrought by Hurricane Katrina, Cummings collaborated with interior designer LM Pagano to update the hotel. The colors and materials add depth and richness to the rooms, while plush mattresses enhance comfort. The big beds can make some standard rooms feel cramped, however. Higher-level rooms get less street noise. We have more than 70 million property reviews, and they're all from real, verified guests.

International House Hotel Review

The staff were great at the hotel, very accommodating and helpful. The location is a couple of block from the French Quarter, which would be most tourists reason to visit. But the CBD and some street car lines are close by. The bar in the reception area was fabulous with some knowledge staff. There are several places to brunch within 5 minutes walk of the hotel.

Fabulously located - walking distance to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. Rooms are generous in size and the hotel itself is beautifully designed. I cannot say enough good things about this boutique hotel and brilliant value for money!! I would stay there again - I wouldn't look for anywhere else to stay. Located only 0.7 km from the immense Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, the 4-star International House Hotel New Orleans features spa therapy, various recreational opportunities and entertainment activities. Harrah's Casino is placed approximately a 7-minute stroll away, and French Quarter is within walking distance of the upscale hotel.

Even the elevator has a door-length “Venus and Adonis” mosaic. The color scheme of creams, dusky greens, grays, and occasionally, rich reds, feels decidedly posh. Occasionally, style trumps function (big beds can make some guest rooms feel tight).
